Privacy Policy

How FlipWordy handles your data.

This Privacy Policy explains what information FlipWordy collects, how it is used, and what choices you have when using the app.

1. Who we are

FlipWordy is an English vocabulary learning application developed by Merve Pekyürek.

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, contact: flipwordy@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use FlipWordy, we may collect or process the following categories of information:

  • Account information such as email address, display name, and login provider when you sign in with Google or Apple.
  • Guest session data when you continue without creating a linked account.
  • Learning data such as daily progress, saved words, word interaction history, selected difficulty, language preferences, and daily goal settings.
  • App preferences such as notification preferences, reminder time, weekend reminder settings, and widget-related display preferences.
  • Purchase and subscription status needed to determine whether ads should be removed for a monthly or yearly subscription.
  • Advertising and consent information used by Google AdMob and Google User Messaging Platform, including ad request and consent status data.
  • Basic technical information that may be collected automatically by third-party services, such as device identifiers, app instance data, approximate diagnostics, and interaction signals needed to serve ads or prevent abuse.

3. How we use information

  • To let you sign in and keep your session active.
  • To personalize vocabulary learning and remember your progress and saved content.
  • To send daily reminder notifications if you enable them.
  • To support home screen widgets and in-app reminder flows.
  • To show ads, limit ad frequency, record ad consent status, and honor your ad-removal subscription.
  • To maintain app security, diagnose problems, and improve stability.

4. Third-party services

FlipWordy may rely on third-party services that process data according to their own terms and privacy policies, including:

  • Google Sign-In
  • Sign in with Apple
  • Google AdMob
  • Google User Messaging Platform for consent collection
  • Google Play Billing

These services may collect device, network, consent, purchase, and usage information as necessary to provide authentication, advertising, billing, fraud prevention, and related platform features.

5. Ads and subscriptions

FlipWordy may display banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads. If available in your region, you may also see a consent form asking whether you agree to certain types of personalized advertising.

If you purchase a "Remove Ads" subscription, FlipWordy stores the subscription state needed to disable ads while the subscription is active.

6. Notifications and widgets

If you enable notifications, FlipWordy may schedule reminder notifications using your selected reminder settings. If you add a FlipWordy widget, the app may store local widget configuration and refresh widget content to display words on your home screen.

7. Data retention

We keep information only as long as it is needed to provide the app and comply with legal or operational requirements. Locally stored learning data and preferences may remain on your device until you remove the app data, sign out, or delete your account from within the app.

8. Your choices

  • You can use certain parts of FlipWordy as a guest.
  • You can disable notifications in the app or in your device settings.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions through Google Play or the App Store.
  • You can delete your in-app account and associated local app records from the Profile area of the app.

9. Children

FlipWordy is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law to consent to data processing on their own. If you believe a child has provided personal data improperly, contact us so we can review the situation.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
